A veteran trial attorney with a career rooted in the courtroom, Kathleen focuses her practice on complex civil litigation and high-stakes trial advocacy.

Professional Experience

Kathleen’s legal career is defined by her extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining Mansfield, Bronstein & Stone, she served as the Managing Attorney for the Florida Litigation Group of a prominent regional firm. In that capacity, she oversaw a high-volume portfolio of contested matters, represented clients in non-jury trials, and presided over numerous mediations.

Her formidable trial skills were forged during her tenure as a prosecutor for the State Attorney’s Office for the 17th Judicial Circuit. During her time as a prosecutor, Kathleen tried approximately 50 jury trials, including 30 felony cases. She further transitioned those skills into the private sector as a defense attorney, where she tried an additional 10 felony jury trials. This deep background in both prosecution and defense provides her with a 360-degree perspective on litigation strategy and courtroom dynamics.

Beyond the courtroom, Kathleen has served the community in a quasi-judicial capacity as a Special Magistrate for the City of North Miami, where she presided over evidentiary hearings and issued formal legal determinations.

Kathleen’s contributions to the legal profession have earned her significant accolades. In 2021, she was recognized as one of the DSNews Top 25 Women of Law.” Her dedication to the legal community has also been honored with awards from several prestigious organizations, including: the Haitian Lawyers Association; Cuban American Bar Association; Broward County Hispanic Bar Association

A committed advocate for professional diversity and legal aid, Kathleen served as the Vice-President of the Haitian Lawyers Association. She also sits on the Board of Directors for Legal Aid Service of Broward County, where she helps guide the organization’s mission to provide high-quality civil legal advice and representation to those in need.
